The Plastic Clay Oyumaru is a thermoplastic elastomer which becomes soft when immersed in hot water. This property is used to shape or mold it more easily. By cooling it will keep its shape, dip it in hot water will make it soft again.
Example : Mold a dolphin in Oyumaru :
You need :
- A piece of Plastic Clay Oyumaru
- A bowl with hot water (> 80C)
- A mold representing a dolphin
- A fork, chopstick or other instrument to remove the clay from the hot water
Step 1 : Cut out the portion you need to use and put it into hot water for 3 minutes. Wait for the clay to become soft.
Step 2 : Take the Oyumaru out of water with a fork or something else and wipe it dry with a towel. While it is still soft push it into the dolphin mold.
Step 3 : Wait that the Oyumaru cool down before removing from the mold, you can place it in the refrigerator to speed up the process.
When the Oyumaru is hard, remove it from the mold and clean the edges. Et Voilà c'est fini.
